2 Days ago, I posted an article on what to expect of the HTC One that was rumored for a long time. Today it was finally unveiled at 2 special press conferences in New York and London. Rumors were quite right actually.

HTC has been making new high-end smartphones non-stop. Last year they released 2 new flagship devices: The HTC One X and the One S. Later that year, HTC released a new flagship device, one that should even be beter than the One X: the One X+.

Now HTC has just revealed it’s latest flagship device , the HTC One!

The HTC One has an all-alluminum unibody design avaiable in black and silver.  Because of this all-alluminum design and only weighing 143g, this phone should  feel great in your hand! The phone has a 1080p 4,7” screen. The LCD screen uses SoLux technology which should improve the picture quality and generate 468 pixels per inch (ppi). This high ppi is because of the device being one  of the smallest Full-HD smartphones.
Another cool thing about this device is it’s audio quality. It has 2 big speakers on the front, an on-board amplifier and Beats technology as we are used to with HTC.

Processors and Memory

The HTC One is the first offcial device to have a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 CPU so this is the first chance for all of you dying to test this new Qualcomm chip.
Each core is clocked at 1,7 Ghz and an Adreno 320 GPU takes care of the graphics.

The HTC One is avaiable in a 32 GB non-expandable version and a 64 GB non-expandable version. Each with 2 GB RAM.

This will certainly provide you of enough memory and process power!

The power source isn’t great, it has a 2300 mAh battery which is pretty low just like the HTC Droid DNA. This one has a 2020 mAh battery and that should provide you of enough juice for about 8 hours.
As long as the HTC One is capable of working a whole day, it’s fine for me. You’ll just have to charge it overnight.

Camera and multimedia

The HTC One has a 4 MP rear camera but don’t think it’s a bad camera!
The pixels in this lens are a lot bigger compared to any other lens. Because of the size of these pixels, there isn’t enough space for more pixels but because of this, the lens catches 300% more light! You just have to try the camera before thinking it is a bad one!
The device has a 2.1 MP front-facing camera and both the rear-facing and front-facing camera can shoot videos in 1080p.

This phone has some cool features such as Zoe, this is a mode where you can take 3 second videos and a burst of 20 photo with just one click!

Another cool feature is that you can use this device as a remote for your television.
Using an app, you can see what’s on your tv live and a guide.
When you spot a show that is playing and you want to watch it, you can just select it thanks to an infrared sensor on the lock button on the top!

HTC Sense 5

All HTC Android devices are running on HTC Sense on top of Android. For this occasion, HTC has made a new version of this layer.

The HTC One X and One S were running on Sense 4 and HTC made some little changes to it for the One X+. This version was called Sense 4+.
The newest version of Sense is called HTC Sense 5 (what a surprise).
This layer uses tiles, just like Windows Phone and is really made for displaying all of your social content and news on the home-screen.  Except for this home-screen that doesn’t look much like Android 4.1 Jellybean, the rest of the UI has stayed pretty much the same. You can also use a the more familiar home-screen with widgets.

An update to Android 4.2 is coming soon!

This device looks really nice, both the design on the specs. I can't wait to try it, certainly the camera!  I am really considering of saving to buy this!
